Kelewele is Ghana's favourite spiced fried plantain — cubed ripe plantain tossed with ginger, chilli, and sometimes nutmeg, then deep-fried until crispy and caramelised. Perfect as a snack or side.

- Peel ripe plantains and cut into cubes or chunks.
- In a bowl, mix ginger, chilli, salt, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- Toss plantain pieces in the spice mixture until well coated.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry plantain in batches until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Drain on paper towels.
